Animal Welfare

Seeing stray or unwell animals when on holiday can be challenging. At Kindred Traveller, we believe that knowing there are local organisations working to better animal welfare can help you rest a little easier. Even more so if you know how to help.

We've made connections with local animal rescues and welfare charities at our destinations. Below you can find links to details on what they're doing in the area, and what you can do to help if you so wish.

The Anglo Italian Society for the Protection of Animals (AISPA) is a British based charity which raises funds for animal welfare organisations in Italy. In Florence, they support Cani di Carla; a small dog refuge on the outskirts, that finds loving adoptive families and runs educational campaigns.

LNDC Animal Protection was created in 1950 with the primary objective of protecting the life and well-being of dogs and cats across Italy, but for some time the commitment has been extended to the defence of animals of every species and race. Open in Chrome for an english translation of their site. You can donate or shop here.
